Two Bear Air Rescue Nears 1,000 Rescue Mission Milestone
On May 8, 2023, an expert crew from Two Bear Air Rescue saved a stranded teenager from Glacier National Park using an advanced helicopter and state-of-the-art infrared cameras. This success brought Two Bear Air Rescue one rescue closer to the 1,000 mission milestone.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said, “They’re on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It’s unbelievable, I mean the technology with the cameras, the hoist and a lot of different functions and then the crew of course.”
Two Bear Air is fully funded by Michael Goguen at no cost to those being rescued or to the taxpayer. “A lot of times [those being rescued]…they’re asking how much it cost, and not to speak for Mike, but he always has said, if it saves one life, that is worth all the money that he’s donated to this operation and I think it’s already saved hundreds of lives at this point,” Heino said.
